Sorry for the lack of creative process in naming my new phone… It’s such a no-brainer to name him after my Andrew Garfield, hihi. Oh shoot, now you know my password for this phone’s amazing wi-fi hotspot feature. Teehee!
I was supposed to do an official unboxing of my new phone but I got ahead of myself and was so excited to see it running. Hihi. AND IT WAS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL. I am a full-pledged BlackBerry user for three years now and even though all those news about RIM closing and shit, I won’t even try to deny that I love my BlackBerry phones. Now with higher resolutions and faster processors, they’re still that no fuss, no frills, and no nonsense smartphone that I love. It does the job for me, and I can even type without looking at the phone!
And I got it for a good deal! I upgraded my plan from Globe Telecom’s BlackBerry Plans and received the phone as a loyalty reward. Really really thankful to Globe!
My favorite feature from this new Curve model is the wi-fi mobile hotspot capability which can share connection to up to 5 devices. Believe me for community managers on the go like me, this could come in handy. Especially for some transition I am entering now — which deserves another blog post, really.
One drawback to this though is they really have to have heavy duty batteries. With my internet running 24/7, it’ll be much better if I don’t have to plug Andrew for at least twice a day.
What do you think?

EDIT: I left my phone when I went out for lunch and when I was back roughly an hour ago, the phone just magicly lit and it was just alive. I AM SO HAPPY plus some other things happened today, so yeah – I’m already solved for this day :)
Let’s interrupt a seemingly good day with the worst news I can hear for the life of me. My phone just died on me. I feel like dying too.
Seriously, I’m getting a new one on Monday and I still haven’t backed up. But I was planning to! I reset my phone a few hours ago and now it won’t open at all! ZOMG. CONTACTS. MESSAGES. VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTES. It feels like losing a limb for me since I do everything with my BlackBerry :(
So please if anyone can just help me recover my data. And hopefully, my phone can still be fixed. I’m giving it to my sister :(
I’M JUST REALLY FUCKING SAD RIGHT NOW AND MY WORLD JUST SEEMED TO CRUMBLE HUHUHU
I shall admit that I was never an Alcatel boy. I had the Siemens cutesy phone when I was in grade school, Nokia colored phone craze (thanks to my high school peer pressures), then switched to and from Samsung and Nokia in the span of my college years, then finally stuck with a BlackBerry. But it was never an Alcatel.
However, after seeing these photos, I can’t resist but to say how sexy and glam they are and how I wanna try them. Not joking even, I hope they’re as functional as how good they look as they are powered by no less than Android OS.

Was invited at the launch of Nokia Lumia 800 for Globe Telecom at Beso in the newly opened Bonifacio High Street Central. The launch was filled with amazing giveaways — where I didn’t catch the number of phones being given away because of all the sangrias I had, but I do remember it’s more than 30 (oh gawd, Coy if you’re reading this please correct me, haha!)
Beso was filled to the brim!
Reg and Norbert with friends
Lumia 800 is the first Windows phone from Nokia which, despite my doubts, is very fast as Norbert from Windows himself demonstrated to me! It performs what a decent smartphone would deliver, but on an unexpected speed! You can get it from Globe free starting at Plan P1799!

Thanks to Paul for this photo! And for the lights for not showing how truly red I was that night! Will be definitely back at Beso Cucina Vinoteka for the unlimited sangrias and amazing tapas and for Globe this week for the Tatt Awards launch!
