Bloggers United 3!

DSC_1109

It was a pleasant welcome to June when our friends over at Bloggers United held their very famous bazaar and all their fans/readers/friends were all too supportive and giddy to have the Grandview Events Place in Makati so packed!!

I really loved my outfit which is really half ukay, and half sponsored. Hehe. I particularly liked my loose top ’cause I have to go around the metro all day and it really is easy to run around town when you’re wearing something as comfy as this.

Congratulations to Bloggers United for making yet another groundbreaking event spearheaded by the net’s most influential fashion bloggers! We love you!!!

Boracay in Maginhawa!

DSC_0327

It was a sunny summer afternoon in Maginhawa. And a certain tea shop that goes by the name of Moonleaf held the summer party that ended all summer parties this year. Milk tea + bands + free photo booth and henna + TWO new tea flavors? What more can you ask for? OH YEAH — summer rain and dancing in it like nobody cares!

Bloggers United STRIKES 3!

Third time’s the charm for the most anticipated fashion bloggers event in the country!

Bloggers United is staging their third bloggers bazaar this June 2 at the Grandview Events Place to once again gather Manila’s top fashion bloggers in one single venue outside of the World Wide Web. After holding two successful events last year, Bloggers United has easily become one of the most anticipated affairs for both fashion bloggers and readers in the metro.  More than just a bazaar, Bloggers United also partners with charitable groups to use and channel their influence in a positive manner.

Through the overwhelming power of social media and blogs in today’s generation, the previous Bloggers United events have successfully joined forces with top fashion bloggers like Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Kryz Uy and many more to inspire their followers and to raise funds for various beneficiaries,  namely KIDS Foundation and GMA Kapuso Foundation. This time around, the event will benefit Operation Smile Philippines.

The event gets better and better every time! To make Bloggers United 3 even more momentous, top Indonesian fashion blogger Anastasia Siantar of The Brown Platform will also be selling alongside Cebu fashion bloggers and our very own top celebrities Divine Lee & Sarah Meier.

So, if you love blog-reading and blog-hopping, Bloggers United is sure to be the perfect end-of-summer bazaar for you. Not only will you be able to bump elbows with your favorite bloggers at the event, but you will also be able to snag some of their own stylish statement pieces as they open their closets to sell to the public. Stay-up-to-date with the biggest gathering of bloggers by following us on Twitter (twitter.com/bloggers_united) and Facebook (facebook.com/bloggersunitedph), and bookmarking our official webpage (bloggersunited.org).

The first-ever Tatt awards held last year gathered and shone the limelight on technophiles, video vamps and passionate advocates of change.

Here are the categories you can choose from! Nominate your best bet NOW!

“This year’s Tatt awards will honor a new batch of digital rockers,” explains Dong Ronquillo, head of the Tattoo Nomadic Broadband Business. “What sets Tatt awards from other web-centric awards is that we look beyond mere statistics and acknowledge individuals who have expressed an opinion, created inspiring works or ignited social change. This is not a mere popularity contest but a recognition of people who used the social media space to share what they are most passionate about and, in the process, created positive influence and stirred action among people,” he adds.

The exhibit by 16 of the country’s budding artists (two collaborated for each piece) namely, BJ Pascual and Valerie Chua, Your Evil Twin and Paulina Ortega, Cholo Dela Vega and Kristine Caguiat, Tricia Gosingtian and Christian San Jose, Carina Santos and Hannah Reyes, Luis Santos and Joseph Pascual, and Gabby Cantero and Cj de Silva was to commemorate Young Star’s 16th anniversary.

I had, yet again, a mini-project running through my mind. I thought of getting everybody’s solo headshot. I used to do this in events, but you know how you get tired when something becomes a routine. So I kinda missed it and took everybody’s headshot…

Anyway, I think I’ll need to title this post as my Postura Day 1, but I know I can’t keep up to do this. Haha! Anyway, I just know we’ll keep on, and never tire supporting these Filipino brands, just as we are showing support for all these up and coming artists!

Weekender

DSC_1068

So last weekend didn’t feel any rest at all, neither work. So I guess, it is a party (haha corny part where I correlate the first photo to the first paragraph #fail) Anyway, we had a garage sale for a cause at Moonleaf Maginhawa. Jen, the ever-so-kabowg Twitter celebrity (nuks!) organized this.

We didn’t miss the opportunity to see the other ganap in the area. THE Clothing are launching their new line of shirts, and I Love You Store is just being that always awesome indie fashion shop that it is. Grabbed some new specs (for P250, it’s a steal!) at I Love You Store and drooled at a tank top that my friend got already (so most prolly I won’t buy it,arte lang.) But I still got my eyes on a shirt in THE, a couple of accessories and tops at I Love You Store. Yay for broke-ness… NOT!

So typically that’s how a staycation weekend looks like for me. Random activities + friends + booze + mainly Cubao X. I need to see an island soon, but I’m still having so much fun here in the city.

Are you in staycation as well? How’s your summer so far?

Go on a trip with PHL360!

PHL360° is a 16-episode fusion of reality TV and travel show circling around the stories of eight indie travelers embarking on a trip around the Philippines. This is an entertaining and informative project for gung-ho and bold travelers who share the same passion and advocacies as independent travelers. Eight different kinds of travelers doing four extraordinary trips in four different destinations in the country (north, south, east and west).

Eight folks will be grouped into four. Say, a surfer is partnered with mountaineer or party-traveler meets camper. Each duo travels to a place both not suited to their personalities with a mission of “how they will make the trip extra meaningful.” We will see what happens after the weekender trip and some surprise twists along the way. It is a reality/documentary show so everything will be recorded from pre-travel to post trip. Each show runs for 15 minutes, airing every Tuesday and Saturday.

***

Just as I was finished with my Puerto Galera series, and recovering from my expenses, and paying off debts, and now have a whole lot like a travel plan thereafter; I came across a friend who introduced me to this somewhat between a dream and a life plan. PHL360 is as ambitious as it gets, but I must admit that this looks like a lot of promise. I’ll definitely be glued to my laptop every Tuesday and Saturday because I know somebody out there is living my dream.

Not that it frustrates me, but I am rather challenged and inspired as early as now… and it hasn’t even started yet! My dream in a webisode, I think, I better start saving now, before I succumb!

This will keep me up all night… you know, thinking about travel and… that lifestyle I wish I get to live. I wish the best, and may the odds be ever in your favor, Team PHL360!

Itchy feet,
J

Moonleaf: My Summer Staycation 2012

Come to think of it, staycation isn’t a bad idea at all. Though I’d really love to be in the islands by now because of this heat staring down at us, the city isn’t that unbearable with my favorite milk tea in hand.

See you all at Moonleaf!

One of the perks of working at Teacher’s Village is that friends come and go all the time. It’s so near the university that it instantly becomes the third place after school/work and home. For some, it is their home, workplace, and hang out place in one! You cannot run out of places to eat/drink/hang at because it’s just bustling with all these potential places. I wish I could try them all!

DSC_0762

DSC_0792

Hop in a car, ride a cab, or even just walk – and you can just reach the nearby UP, which is a sight in its own. I’ve seen many a photo shoot happened here, and who could even know a grass land this vast can be found in the middle of the city? It’s perfect for picnics, too! Whatever floats your boat!

And the day ISN’T over. After work, I met up with some more friends and rewarded myself with burger and booze at the newly renovated Burger Project. My blogger friends were there already, and I showed up and crashed. They were supposed to invite me, really but I still have work by the time they get there.

Paradigm Shift S/S12: SHINY

This is me posting late for one of the most beautiful things I awaited this Summer! The moment I saw the collection, I thought of one thing: where do I get all the money to buy the pieces that I want?! Well, rest assured that the prices are friendly, but there are just too much that I wanted to buy!

I love how the vest dress was styled (right)

Here are my top picks for this collection. I posted them with prices, so I remember myself how much I’ll save haha *wink*

Shorts with silver PVC detail (P2,185) I ordered this while they were just finishing their lookbook! Good thing, I’m friends with the owners Mike and Karl.

Silver vest-dress (P1,850) This vest-dress… I just can’t explain how ninja-ic and surreal it is! Getting this before fashion week!

Short that converts to a skirt when unbuttoned (P2,185) I can’t explain more how this piece is so well-thought of.

Silver shirt (P995) And there are basic days, that you just want to be neutral. *approves*

Shirt with triangle PVC (P1,499) SERIOUSLY HIPSTER. I’m thinking of asking them if I can have it in v-neck, kinda reminds me of a piece an installation in the Louvre.

Gray leggings (P995) I know what you’re thinking – what with my humongous thighs and legs, what am I thinking of buying a pair of leggings! But there’s no harm in trying – and try I will!

I am so gaga with this collection!!!
