Moonleaf presents: UAAP Cheerdance Competition

It’s yet another season of UAAP, and for those who care less about basketball (sorry, junkies) there’s the Cheerdance Competition. Probably, if not the second, the most anticipated event in UAAP. And I’m not kidding. From where I graduated, I heard, the pep squad is the most pampered and most spent on team!

And we at Moonleaf were more than happy to host a CDC screening. Now on its second year to host, we always love seeing school spirit!

Our friends, Travis and Cai among many others, came to watch (and cheer their lungs out) with us! Can you tell who they were rooting for from their outfit?

There’s plenty of goofing around, too. Not captured in photos, though! Everybody was loopy and happy not until the announcement of winners. When the champion was announced, which was UP for the 8th time now, EVERYBODY, and I mean everybody, like the shop was like quaking in full joy! This is Maginhawa branch we are talking about! Balwarte levels!

And after hosting the event, we were all hungry and shit so… Mercato ensued. I had isaw, Laoag empanada, and the most heavenly aligue-laden three-cheese Risotto balls. I. HAZ. TO. GO. BACK. FOR. THAT.

And a little beer wouldn’t hurt to cap night. This is my and my friend Pat’s favorite drink. I miss her badly. Pat if you’re reading this, get the hell outta of that lab and let’s drink!

Jane By Design No More

This is just sad news. Very sad, indeed. We’re all gonna miss that simple girl who had three guys wooing for her attention, and has the toughest, yet most enviable, job of working in the fashion industry in New York.

With Gossip Girl on its last season, and this prematurely ending, where am I supposed to go for my weekly New York fix? :(

Here’s a scoop why from the Huffington Post:

ABC Family has canceled “Jane by Design.”

The network confirmed the cancellation to The Huffington Post after announcing therenewals of “Melissa & Joey,” “Switched at Birth” and “Baby Daddy.” The network also ordered more episodes of “Bunheads.”

“Jane by Design” starred Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby, a high-school student who moonlights as an assistant to a fashion designer. Andie MacDowell co-starred as Gray Chandler Murray, Jane’s world-famous fashion designer boss. Teri Hatcher recently joined the cast in a recurring role as Jane’s mother.

Season 1 wrapped up in July 2012 to an audience of 1.2 million viewers.

Current mood: Peter Bjorn and John

I really really miss 2 Broke Girls now and currently obsessing over Peter Bjorn and John. If you’ve been watching it, you’ll notice that this song is their opening theme! Can’t wait for Season 2! And PB&J’s next album :)

Creature meets creator.

22 years since Muppets creator, Jim Henson, died.

And Kermit is still sad. Wonder if this is how it feels to meet your creator.

Of House Stark

Was thinking of the same thing!!!

Winter is coming (I hope so, izzo hawt here)

Go on a trip with PHL360!

PHL360° is a 16-episode fusion of reality TV and travel show circling around the stories of eight indie travelers embarking on a trip around the Philippines. This is an entertaining and informative project for gung-ho and bold travelers who share the same passion and advocacies as independent travelers. Eight different kinds of travelers doing four extraordinary trips in four different destinations in the country (north, south, east and west).

Eight folks will be grouped into four. Say, a surfer is partnered with mountaineer or party-traveler meets camper. Each duo travels to a place both not suited to their personalities with a mission of “how they will make the trip extra meaningful.” We will see what happens after the weekender trip and some surprise twists along the way. It is a reality/documentary show so everything will be recorded from pre-travel to post trip. Each show runs for 15 minutes, airing every Tuesday and Saturday.

Just as I was finished with my Puerto Galera series, and recovering from my expenses, and paying off debts, and now have a whole lot like a travel plan thereafter; I came across a friend who introduced me to this somewhat between a dream and a life plan. PHL360 is as ambitious as it gets, but I must admit that this looks like a lot of promise. I’ll definitely be glued to my laptop every Tuesday and Saturday because I know somebody out there is living my dream.

Not that it frustrates me, but I am rather challenged and inspired as early as now… and it hasn’t even started yet! My dream in a webisode, I think, I better start saving now, before I succumb!

This will keep me up all night… you know, thinking about travel and… that lifestyle I wish I get to live. I wish the best, and may the odds be ever in your favor, Team PHL360!

Itchy feet,

Good Friday Watch: Ang Katapusan on TV5

Some have claimed that the end of the world has started. Natural and man-made disasters are happening one after the other.

Major disasters, such as the Japan 8.9 magnitude earthquake/tsunami and the 2004 Indian Ocean magnitude 9.1 earthquake/tsunami, have claimed thousands of lives and destroyed billions worth of infrastructure. Conflicts and wars have ravaged countries in the Middle East, and terrorist and nuclear war threats from countries like Iran and North Korea have intensified. And with the death of Osama Bin Laden… many fear the worst will soon come.  Continue reading

Jessica Sanchez

I really am not a fan of this year’s batch of American Idol contestants, but after seeing this – the restraint but equally proportional energy is just amazing! Perfect for the blue day that is today… Why is it raining in SUMMER?!

Whitney, watch this from wherever you are

I know we must not make light of the demise of one of the world’s greatest voices. I just thought Whitney Houston will laugh at how creative people can get with her songs. She has inspired, not only singers, but people in general with her songs of love, encouragement, inspiration, and positivity. And even with this parody, I still think that Whitney has served a great deal of inspiration.

On other news though, how do I watch the Grammy’s while on the go? Need to watch that Coldplay performance and the Whitney tribute. Hmmmmmmm.

P.S. And oh, how intriguing it is that she died on the eve of the world’s premiere music award-giving night. I say depression is involved. Nevertheless, we love you W!

MDNA of the Rocks

Madge tells us no one’s too old to rock and groove!
Though, really, she can’t flex that much anymore… *creys*
I love that she started with Vogue! Powerful beginnings are powerful!
*at this early, I’ll ask you to excuse the exclamation abuse :P*
LMFAO kinda watered down the performance IMHO…
WHO IS MIA? And there goes Nicki doing crazy faces again!
They both look like a slut. And Madge looks younger than them.
My friend thought Ceelo was Andre Leon Talley! LOL, must be the robe?
Akshuli, ang lakas maka-Sister Act ni Ceelo Green
It actually felt like the church of Madonna, on the final segment.
How is Madonna NOT ageing?
Love the knee-high, high-heeled booties. IS SHE REALLY 50+?
Or maybe they’re hiding the real MDNA (this is mindfuckin’ creepy)

Nevertheless, we all love her Givenchy ensemble. You know you did!!!

P.S. Forgive the mind-vomit. I was just really stunned by her performance. For non-sports people like me, it’s the best we can get from Super Bowl.
P.S.S. Nvm the title, I was just thinking how to make it witty/catchy/unconventional, errrr… lol!
