Mister x Manila Launch at Greyone Social

DSC_0049

DSC_0047

Carved from the mind, made straight into material, Mister brand puts a modernistic spin on classic men’s attire. The inherently stylish, San Francisco born designers engineer their garments to contain quality and comfort, with superior attention to detail and everlasting style.

DSC_0028

DSC_0030

Largely manufacturing their clothing in San Francisco gives Mister brand the opportunity to not only enrich it’s community, but the capability to chaperon every garments construction from start to finish. Mister, made for all men, and for every wardrobe.

DSC_0041

DSC_0043

Here in the Philippines, Mister is exclusively distributed by Greyone Social at Greenbelt 5. Along with brands like Vans, Hellz Bellz, Dissizit, and couple more of hip-hop-skater feel brands, the addition of Mister in the racks of Greyone Social adds an opposite but welcome complement. I particularly liked the minimalist and basic tees with a subtle diversion to prints. Also the reversible collar in the shirt is an interesting piece.

DSC_0044

A couple of accessories like this wooden bow is also part of the Mister collection at Greyone Social. I like how this is in collaboration with our local designers and manufacturers. Dee Jae Paeste, who designed the absolutely amazing pieces for Mister, is a proud supporter of Postura PH, also. Spot him wearing some indigenous tribal accessories below:

I was in Greyone Social as well, so I took the chance to spot some items I think y’all would be interested to:

These shoes are made from paper. But they don’t tear, and are water-proof! Civic Duty sneakers are definitely in my wish list!

Vans shoes can be also bought in the store! My eyes are on the new high cuts!

One last hurrah for this post: shout out to Greyone Social’s fabulous owner, Ms. Rosario Herrera for personally showing me around, and introducing me to people. She has been a very accommodating host, and it has been a worthwhile trip to Greenbelt, which is a bit far from where I work and live. Well, that’s even aside from Mister’s beautiful collection!

DSC_0026

I thought I’d give ode to the Greyone vibe but I really don’t wanna go all hip-hop ’cause it’s not who I am. This Oxygen top (which fabric btw is perfect for the summer) helped me stick to my own style while deviating for a bit. Added love for this top: I got it for 30% off!!!

ANTEROOM SESSIONS 2: Double the fun!

MARCH 31 — Exactly six months and 28 days ago, we held the very first Anteroom Sessions at Moonleaf Maginhawa. I was an intern at Punchdrunk Panda then, and we just wanted to launch some new kicks, with a couple of bands playing, while still making sales. It was just a simple, very simple, musing. Until after some meetings, we decided to take on five bands, a couple of DJs, six brands, and a video production team on board. To cut the story short, we were overwhelmed with the outcome of what we were able to come up with then. Up until now, I still feel kilig whenever I look back at the very first Anteroom Sessions. It was the highlight of my internship, and I can say with all confidence that it was my biggest project for PdP. (Sorry for the emotive tone, I can get very emotional with this, hehe)

DSC_0181

AND NOW IT HAS GONE OUT OF PROPORTIONS! A month before I was surprised to know that the second Anteroom Sessions will be held at CUBAO X! It shocked me and it instantly brought me back to my internship days where I first envisioned PdP at — exactly at the SAME SPOT as I saw them last night. It was surreal, and PdP didn’t disappoint.

DSC_0191

This year, I really felt where Anteroom Sessions came from!!! Seven bands, two DJs, thirteen proudly Filipino brands, and a whole lot of FUN awaited people – indeed MORE FUN WITH PUNCHDRUNK PANDA! I think I’ll shut my mouth a bit, and let these photos speak for itself *giddy*

Aside from the awesome, awesome lineup, 13 brands also participated and sold their proudly Filipino products! One of Punchdrunk Panda’s PdP-losophy is to, in any way possible, be proud of their Filipino roots – and here’s adhering to that value.

Towards the end of the night, I was approached by someone and he happened to not know that I am no longer officially with PdP. He, all of a sudden, thanked me for bringing Cubao X back to life. In those few seconds, I felt a tear jerk. One, because I was once part of this. And two, because all that he said are true.

When I finally recovered last night, I think I spontaneously just smile at the thought of Anteroom Sessions. It was indeed a brainchild and I wish there will be more of this in the coming years. As it grows bigger, I hope more brands will become inspired of what PdP achieved in its smallness and greatness all at the same time. More than the fun, I think how Punchdrunk Panda seeks to advocate the arts is what really amazes me, above all.

Kudos, PdP and Heima, and to all who were involved in this huge endeavor! I will never tire of supporting these guys!

Experiences with shopping with girlfriends render one to be in touch with the feminine side (oh, believe me, I have no problem with that!) That’s why I know that shopping means a pilgrimage to brands like Mango. Mango has been in the radar of every stylish lady for quite a while – what with a plethora of comfortable yet quality and subtly stylish clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories. I’ve always thought why Mango doesn’t have a men’s line.

Kate Moss and Terry Richardson are perfect for this ad that circulated around 3o countries including Spain (where it all began), France, Germany, Turkey, UK, Greece, and Russia.

I really liked that bag in the video! Anyway, after a quick search, I came to know that apparently, the Spanish clothing brand has indeed a men’s line, HE by Mango, which has been around for quite a while. This really makes me think why isn’t Mango Philippines carrying this? I think if Topman and Zara Man has Manila branches, so should HE by Mango.

I hope though it doesn’t take a while before HE by Mango arrives in Manila. But for the meantime, I shall have some pieces shipped here straight from Spain. HAHAHAHAHA LOLJK!

That day was pretty goddamn tiring. I never liked Divisoria in the first place. But heck it was sooooo productive! We got to accomplish a lot of things despite giving up a holiday and having to wake up the next day for work! I can say that my body may be complaining but my mind wants to do some more! Pretty impressive, when way back college, I seldom (LIKE REALLY SELDOM, TO THE POINT OF NOT EVEN BEING AN OPTION) become so productive, and now I’m almost drunk of being productive. Oh. That. If you’re gonna ask about the title, then the logo above may explain. StereoTyped is one of my latest collaborations, now with college buddies Hanna and Ella. I must admit, that I’ve been fancying around having a shirt collaboration for the longest time! Though I do not want to preempt the collection, I’m just gonna say that this one is pretty dope. Ella designed the whole PILOT collection inspired by music and typography! Can’t say more for now, but we’re looking forward to sharing it with all of you once it’s out!

Support StereoTyped and be free to wear the soundtrack of your life with our originally-designed, audio-inspired shirts! Like us in Facebook, follow us in Twitter (@wearstereotyped), and follow our blog in Tumblr to get updates from us! Keep tuned in ’cause we’ll be releasing our PILOT collection in a matter of days time! We hope you’re excited because damn we are!

Straight from the GPB last week, I really didn’t have a weekend. Props to my body for not crashing, LOL! Anyway, I love this week because it’s so busy and productive. But it was also fun. Lots and lots of fun with friends, officemates, collaborators, and what have you.

It’s the first time I ever experienced selling in a bazaar. Well, I’ve had pseudo-experiences on fair selling when I was on High School, but I think that barely counts; especially when you account my friend-coercing efforts :P Anyway, I learned how to appreciate bazaar sellers. It takes a lot to man a booth – with all the crowd, the questions, the impossible haggles, etc! You can’t leave the booth just anytime. You can’t appear tired, you must always smile. Above all, you must sell your stuff to indecisive buyers (I quoted as such because I believe people do not know what they want and are generally indecisive.) Though I have to note that we’ve had a couple of buyers who just showed up and bought.

This is not to be taken as the sole motivating factor behind blogging. I mean, yes, being a blogger sometimes entitles you to these perks and privileges but it’s because the brands appreciate your time and effort. Nowadays, blogging really comes with a very hefty amount of “good stuff.” However I have long wanted to clear this side of blogging from my own point of view. That blogging is not just about the free stuff (but honestly, it’s a sweet addition) but it is also all about sharing who you are and your two cents about your food, your clothes, your gadgets or what may float your boat. Your desire to share matters and it’s a lot more than endorsements. I have been receiving questions regarding this, and I’ve thought this is the perfect opportunity to answer those questions. I hope I have given a fairly satisfactory answer though :D

And now, excuse me while I indulge myself a lil’ bit with these freebies. Tee-hee! Thank you very much to Guess, Vans, and especially Oxygen! Special thanks to Connect Agency for this wonderful opportunity and PFW for a great show :D

Will always be grateful,
J

Vans S/S12

I think this is the first time Vans participated in the Philippine Fashion Week, and this is the last show that I watched. It may be the last, but it definitely gave me a high! This may be their first PFW show but, heck, Vans knows how to put up some show! They stayed true to the skater brand that they’ve been known for. Props to that and for putting up with all these effort – extra hyping the runway, having skaters skate everywhere, and a lot more in between. Summer must really be the best season for the brand since their clothing line is very comfy and wearable. Now that’s what you need for the summer heat, isn’t it? Something that will not sweat you out in the middle of the summer heat and is completely wearable anytime.

DSC_0996F&H v-neck undershirt, Oxygen long-sleeve knitted turtle neck, Penshoppe semi-glossy pants, Thrifted military boots, Anagon silver wired bib necklace, Speedo frames… and a lot of loot bags, LOL!

I loooooooooove being in an all black ensemble. This may explain the plethora of black pieces in my closet! Aside from hiding my baby fats (which are ugly, very ugly) black is a classic style that never fades! The bib necklace that I ordered from Anagon arrived that afternoon, so I had a chance to match it with my outfit. And it just exploded in the middle of all the blackness that I wore! I am not that of an accessories person (another sweat mcahine issue) but I really love the detail that this necklace gives my rather bland outfit without it. Don’t you love the detail of Anagon’s wired collection? You go order here, before it’s too late!

1Summer is all about comfortable clothing. Time for sheer and thin fabrics, subdued hues, and shorts!

3But it does not mean you cannot be edgy. Oxygen shows us how to style with the right edge and comfort

7Loving the tote bags!

8Layering can be a bit of a problem in the summer season, especially for a sweat machine like me, but this collection is too comfy to make one break a lot of sweat.

9Reminds me of summer parties way back in college

10The Marcela prints are exquisite partners to the Oxygen cut!

It was an awesome show! If you’ve been following me through Twitter, you’ll know that I made kulet for them to upload their runway mix! And here it is! This playlist kept me inspired while doing this post! Congratulations to Oxygen for setting the bars up for every collection without veering away from the aesthetic that they’ve been known for. Y’all should be proud too! Oxygen is an all-Filipino brand making waves here and, soon abroad!

Came to the show straight from work, hence the backpack. But I love that backpack that I got for over 50% off, LOL! Spacious and just the right size. Anyway, I haven’t thought of the inspiration for that day’s outfit, until I realized it’s so Star Trek-ish! Or outerspace chic, whatchamahcallit! LOL! I think this is what watching too much Big Bang Theory does to you!
