Run for your lives! Or not.

There’s roughly more than a week left before the Mayans’ prediction of doomsday. Are you scared? Or do you find it funny? Whether it’s true or not, if we can’t do anything about it then here are 12 things you can do to end 2012… Or the world, whichever comes first.

More of this after the jump!

I know, those are 12 things you can do before the world ends, and it kinda ends in two days. HAHA! So yeah, to not miss out on our new blog, subscribe, subscribe! Anyway, please read my article and find some cool stuff to do before the world reels back to Year 0. Happy End of the World, everyone!

So recently, it’s been my iPad, music, coffee, and smokes. I don’t even want to justify my habits now, but this is what’s keeping me sane. For now. Especially with all the stresses of daily adult life. I remember once, when I was in college, when my clinical instructor pushed my (ok, you wanna gulp deep before you read the next words) forearm deep down the uterus of a mother who just gave birth to clean it. It’s so warm and fuzzy in there, why would anyone want to go out and grow up?

‘Cause I guess we all have to.

And so, maybe you’ve noticed the hiatus. Slight, maybe. But I miss the old times, when I can blog everyday, and share what has been my day about or this cool thing I just found, or you know just letting out some steam. I miss it. It kills me that I go home (or somebody else’s I’m crashing at) too tired to open even the WordPress app to write a few. I wish I could go back to college for a lot of reasons. One, you obviously know the dilemma. And two, because I damn well miss blogging like there’s no exams tomorrow.

But life happened. And we just continue. A guy I really love once told me that if life throws shit on you, you pick it up and throw it back, and be proud of your dirty hands. That’s what I’m doing now. My eyes are drooping and God knows how many times I hit backspace because I kept on typing misspelled words. But I am pushing all boundaries, and even myself to do this.

Because I love what I’m doing. Because this is who I am, I guess. And because I owe so much to this blog, I won’t want this to be just another project I started.

Life happened. But love is stronger.

Per as it was

And just like in a movie, time stopped when we talked. And when the bomb was dropped, everything resumed per as it was.

Except for me. I was once again infiltrated by the shrapnels I can never avoid, I can never miss. I wish though time would stop for me even without you as a medium. To lend me some time to recuperate a bit.

So that I, too, can be per as it was.

The Ultimate Punchdrunk Panda Blogger Hangout!

This will be the fourth blogger hangout that I will be with Punchdrunk Panda, and I am just so happy they keep on inviting me (hehe!) And this time around, it’s the biggest one there is in the history of funkifying the world with quirky cool stuff!

It was held at the new Pino – Pipino restaurant and bar at Jupiter street in Makati. Hands down for this group for always making the best grub in town! The last time in Pipino at Malingap street in Teacher’s Village was amazing. And so is this one. ONE PROOF: I have no photos of the food (hehe and sorry!)  because each time the food comes in, it magically finds it way to our mouths. TRUE STORY. This is why we are not dedicated food bloggers, haha!

Anyway, on its fourth wave of blogger hangouts already, Punchdrunk Panda (also, PdP) introduced its new batch of skimmers and camera straps! If you’re still not familiar with PdP, you’re in for some quirky and cool fun!

Light Years

Shutterbug

First up, Manix Abrera (of the Kikomachine Komix fame!) designed a pair of guys’ skimmers, and camera straps (another favorite from PdP!) I really like how it became an extension of his work from the graphic novel world and a fan would instantly buy it. After the whole hangout, everyone was busy buying their own Shutterbug camera straps and had it signed by Manix himself!

Nov 7, 2012, 3:49 PMDiego Mapa

Intergalactic Duet with Dan Matutina

Diego Mapa of two-man band Tarsius, one of our artists from Anteroom Sessions 1 and 2, together with graphic designer Dan Matutina, designed this galactic pair of skimmers. What’s unique with this pair is that with its postcard (each product comes with a postcard with a message from the artist) is a QR code of Diego Mapa’s original soundtrack for Graphika Manila! It’s an intense intergalactic medley of art!

Nemonita

Nemonito

Nemo Aguila‘s character designs are to die for! It kinda reminds me of some PdP products with monsters – yepp, you’re right Rob Cham’s Monsters – but now in a different dimension and apparently adaptation of Nemo’s name! Cool work, bruh!

Nov 7, 2012, 3:53 PMJen “Master Panda” Horn

Stamp Collector

Jen Horn‘s love for travel have successfully transcended into her designs and et voila, the Stamp Collector is a mirage of travel visa stamps! It’s my frustration to travel more frequently, and buying this maybe will psyche its way into my life. I don’t know but you, but isn’t that how the law of attraction works?

Nov 7, 2012, 3:59 PMAlessandra Lanot

Eat Your Vegetables

Alessandra Lanot, or fondly Alessa of Pipino, is a vegan. YES, folks, a real one! I didn’t think vegans exist too, until I met her! I have nothing against vegetables, in fact I love them, but you cannot deprive me of my meat (sorry, Alessa!) So Alessa’s work is demanding you to eat your vegetables instead! Haha mai-connect lang, labo! Featured in this artwork is NOT only Alessa’s love for vegetables, but also her watercolor skills that kill! You didn’t even notice it’s watercolor, yes?

Some of the artists from this collection were not able to join us, so here are their works of funkifying art!

Splash by Lady Krystle Tanmantiong & Anna Oposa

Save the Philippine Seas-inspired, definitely! This artwork definitely shows us how beautiful the sea is even in a small canvas like a shoe. Wear it and be a proud planeteer!

Bob-eye the Referee by Apol Sta. Maria

Another playful artwork in a pair of skimmers? It’s just so PdP I love it! I love how collaborations show the different facets of a brand through different artists as well!

Geoglyphs by Nathania Gail Go

We’d love to see Gail here, but she’s funkifying the other end of the world. But yay for her work which I think means “art on stone.” It’s a naturally occurring formation on rocks! Cool new information, huh? And oh, love the contrasting colors!

I love blogger hangouts! It’s simple and intimate and ultimately I get to know the brand and other bloggers as well. It’s fun to see familiar faces too from our previous blogger hangouts :)

Pino’s signature wall art is very tempting for camwhoring. Or we’re just camwhores I think. Say hi to Margarita Queen Tin Rementilla with me on the photo! Di po kami nag-usap sa outfit haha

Where the boys at? Near me. Hehe. Say hi to Paul the PR Guy and Seph Cham of Love Chic.

Look how big the PdP family already is *tears!* Really thankful to be part of this team and group of bloggers! Much love from moi!

Manix on the Pino wall! Artist on action, *camera click*

The Pandas Nica, Jen, and Pauline with honorary Panda Alessa!

Also, let’s congratulate Pino for being part of Juice.ph’s Juice 50: The Ultimate List of Things to Do, Eat, Drink, Buy and Try In and Out of the Metro! You deserve it guys!

No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgendered life

From the Human Rights Campaign Facebook page

So today (in some other countries) they remember those who have suffered and died because of discrimination of their chosen gender roles and preferences. It is sad, but what we could do now is to remember, learn, and apply what history could teach us.

Nobody should die because they chose who they really are and chose not to live a life of conformity. And may this day may serve its purpose – to open the eyes of the blinded and for us who are different from the rest of them, may it serve as an encouragement to be brave and face this life with dignity and pride.

Backlog Progress Report

20121112-062157.jpg

Yepp, I’m in the middle of werq-related shit, and currently pulling an all-nighter (ah, well it’s morning already, so fuck eeeeeet) and neither the two us, here with my friend Vince, are finished. I’m tempted to tease you though with what I’ll be blogging in the next days (God, I need a free day) but I’d rather you guys be excited about it.

But, I’ll be starting a mini-travel series, some news about our generous brand friends, and a little big (labo, haha!) gossip in the local blogging industry.

So I hope you’re not bummed there (’cause I am with all the lack of sleep) and you keep tuned in to my little happy space.

Til free time decides to bug me,
J

Hello, I miss you

20121109-141740.jpg

It’s been more than one week since I posted here, and I’ve been itching to blog about a lot of things (especially, my long weekend at Boracay!) but I’ve been really busy and tired… and yes, lazy haha (huhu!) So I wish I really get the time to get back to all of you… I miss this place, my happy, infinite place ;(

The clouds that we love will always be in that same spot

20120922-034343.jpg

The clouds that we love will always be in that same spot. As if it’s a reminder of a good day, a good time, a good friendship. It may rain, it may not be there at times. But the sun will shine, and there, like a good friend waiting for you long gone. Still nothing has changed.

The clouds that we love will always be in that same spot. Where we put our sunnies on, and almost like an instagram photo, no matter how grainy from the strained eyes, contacts on for more than a day, tired from almost not sleeping in the moving car, instead of catching up some z’s, we were singing along almost every song on the radio, you and me. Like a photo on filter, it’s always a good one.

The clouds that we love will always be in that same spot. A hundred miles away from the city, a whim to take us there, a couple of friends more, and we’re a party. Like nothing matters but now. All our cares are thrown in the trunk, windows down, feel the wind in your face. Make funny jokes, play a roadtrip game, speed up in the freeway. Nothing can stop us.

The clouds that we love will always be in that same spot. It may take weeks, months, or even years before we go back. But like everything else, distance makes the heart grow fonder. For now, those clouds that we love which will always be in that same spot has to wait…

And make other people happy as it did for us.

Battousai is here

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! We were just musing about waiting for a subtitled version to hit the internet (HEEEEEEEEEY RUROUNI KENSHIN OTAKU REPRESENT!) but now, it’s even better. We’ll need to wait for another month before Battousai hits the big screens. October 17 at SM Cinemas. I’ll definitely rampage my way WHATEVER I AM DOING just to watch it!

P.S. Unknown to many, I was am a BIG anime fan, and RK happens to be my favorite of all time. I actually haven’t watched anything as faithfully as I did with Kenshin. This just means I. HAVE. TO. WATCH. THIS.
P.S.S. Haha, apologies for the ultraspazzing and fanboying.
