Hunger Games AGAIN

DSC_0417

So hi there again! This day couldn’t get any lazier… It’s the longest I’ve been home since I got a job again back in January. And I was just blog-hopping and checking tweets, and oh, changed my Facebook profile picture. But that doesn’t interest you, and most importantly, is not connected to my blog post title. Sheesh, forgive the three year-old in me.

Anyhoo, I’ve watched The Hunger Games again before the holiday, and I still couldn’t pull out a decent movie review out of my brain. Remember that I haven’t seen anything that I haven’t seen before? Yeah count this one in. I know there are plenty other films to watch, but I just couldn’t pass up with watching a fellow fan and shrieking like a girl and like nobody cared.

DSC_0426Aaron Yeo visited Angel for her birthday! How sweet of this guy!

DSC_0431Hello everyone, meet the birthday girl! I love Angel‘s new hair!!

We had dinner at the newly renovated Yabu. It was bigger, but it still is crowded. Maybe they should get a bigger place of their own, and not just in a mall #justsayin. Anyway, the food is still how I liked it the first time I was there. I ordered the Rosu (instead of my favorite Kurobota.) The meat was still succulent, thanks to the all-encompassing presence of fat in the meat. I shall try the Hire some other time, or even the Chicken and Seafood katsu. But for now, I’m having and am happy with my pork, yes, thank you.

I couldn’t emphasize how I LOVE the cabbage salad. I almost asked the waitress to omit the rice from my order, but my bill would be the same, so I had rice. Next time though I wouldn’t have the rice. Cabbage and Katsu is heaven and it should stay as is. (Blogging this on a Good Friday does not help, I’m hungry and there are no places to eat at but home.)

About that Hunger Games date. What can I say? Aaron hasn’t watched it yet, and Angel and I were going for round two. AND. I. STILL. CAN’T. BELIEVE. HOW. GOOD. IT. IS!!!! I mean, bashers can bash all they want, book purists can just stay with their books and force an imaginary filmed one in their minds, but yes I’ll take this film with ME as good excellent! I’d like to blab all I’ve said to everybody I talked with this, but I’m saving it for a legit movie review (if I ever come with a decent one, lol)

And of course, give me the benefit of gayness. Josh Hutcherson‘s Peeta IS an eyecandy, and has the perfect underdog puppy eyes look to this wildly feminine series. And also, who could forget Alexander Ludwig’s Cato?! SERIOUSLY, how and when did he get that sizzling hot? That may have to answer to the basher’s casting fail, less pedophilia in District 2 is really a high-numbered incident! Of course, I’m joking. Die, bashers. No, really. Peace and love everyone! :P

Folded and Hung basic v-neck tee, Levi’s distressed denim pants, Thrifted Rolling Stones hooded jacket, Reebok high cut kicks

Thanks to Aaron for the photo!

I semi-want and not want to explain my outfit. This is my guilty outfit, where I just throw a random set of clothes (well mostly monochromatic,) wear jacket, and wear rubber shoes. Haha! These are the days when I just want to be comfy and not care. But, who knew, it actually worked. And I thought also that this is my Hunger Games look. Haha, with the pants smeared with jizz mud. I wish I wore boots though for more THG.

ANYWAY, before I forget. Happy, happy birthday again to the only one blogging wonder woman that is Angeline! It was really fun hanging with you, spending the last few hours before all closes down for the break. Hope you really had a good one. I hope I can join you girls in Titanic 3D this Wednesday… we’ll be shrieking trying-not-to-shriek girls again. Or maybe another round of Hunger Games. Hahahahaha!

P.S. Seriously, if anyone would ask me to watch with him/her The Hunger Games again, I’d definitely say YES without any doubt.

Last Week in Photos

Just let the good vibes coming!!! I so love last week!

PdP Blogger Hangout

It has been months since I was with PdP in an event, and this is already their third blogger hangout! Always a pleasure going to PdP’s events because they’re fun, and you really cannot run out of stuff to talk about. Plus, I love that these events are not-your-usual-events and is more intimate than others. I think it’s a good example how brands should conduct their events.

Toe in Manila with Hanna and Pebbles

I will have to say that the last centavo of what seemed to be my measly savings went to my Toe ticket. No regrets though! I haven’t been in a rock concert, much more in a post-rock concert, and Toe was such a great band to watch and experience!! I wish I can show you how the drummer looked like when he was spacing out and just banging on his drums – he was so surreal! But unfortunately, even point-and-shoot cameras weren’t allowed. REALLY TERNO PRODUCTIONS? WHY?!

Video grabbed from a random Youtube-r, hehe

The Hunger Games with Team DGNTY

And yes, the most awaited film of the quarter IMHO hit the big screens last week!! And I have to thank Hunger Games Philippines for the superb seats! I really don’t wanna spoil but there were so many good scenes, excellent even – and it was the best book-to-film adaptation there is, so far! The casting, the production design, the cinematography, the editing, the costume design, what else?! It’s so perfect, it deserves a repeat watch this Thursday!!! See you, fangirls!

EXO dance practice with Toff and Miko

And… I am trying to dance again… Hey, no judgment, I really used to dance, some five years ago! But that’s a long time already haha, so it really helped that Toff and Miko were really patient when I didn’t get the steps easily. I really missed dancing, and was really planning to enroll in a studio this summer. At least I get to start shedding off some rust now, hehe.

Honestly, all my muscles now are like on strike. Even just lifting a glass of water hurts my whole arm… THE WHOLE ARM, I TELL YOU! Am not complaining, but is that how long I’ve been without real physical activity? I better start getting used to this, lawlz.

But indeed, it was still an epic of a week!!!
Still felt like my birthday week, tbh.

Dystopia

Amazing infographic from Goodreads! I like how they really put an analysis to the influx of dystopian literature through the years! Among the themes, I can say World War II and Post-apocalypses are my favorites!

This is an instant addition to my LOOOOOOOONG list of books to read. Come to think of it, this one’s my favorite genre. I like reading about dystopia and how people would actually survive the war/government/apocalypse.

I’ve just sold my Hunger Games book to Rsen (thank you, friend) because I’m buying the whole boxed set. I could actually settle with just buying the UK version, but I had the US, so I have to have the same versions. Yeah, I’m OC like that.

Please let me go giddy over the HUNGER GAMES FILM. We’re watching it tomorrow already!! PEETAAAAAAA!!

Oh I still have to have my Panem ID printed! *fanboys*

One year after

Fukushima Hula Girls

I’m so sorry, I can’t find a subtitled trailer, but I’ll try to explain it the best I can. So here goes trying — Almost a year after the great earthquake in Japan, the film shows how the Hula Girls, the resident and signature entertainers of the Fukushima prefecture, helped their family and friends recover, mostly emotionally, from the massive loss they’ve experienced. It also shows the story of the Spa Resort Hawaiian, who trained these Hula Girls and their own recovery as an institution after the damages incurred by the catastrophe.

In this I really look up to the Japanese. They’re very organized in facing this – from the government to the private sector. They’re resilient and they do not blame anyone. They help each other. They genuinely help each other. Though it’s important to help no matter what, I think what’s the most important thing is to be genuine in times like that.

So this day, this day that marks officially the first year of the Japan earthquake, let us remember how the Japanese set an example to the whole world. To recover so fast from what happened exactly a year ago, it is indeed remarkable that the Japanese has gone a long way.

Kudos to you, Japan!

P.S. For the record, after all that happened, I’m even more motivated to travel to Japan!!

May the odds be ever in your favor

I can’t wait for the 22nd!!!! My birthday week (and month for that matter) is really getting better by the moment! I’ll stop blabbering before I spoil any detail, but all I know is that Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) is mine (lawlz!) It helped that I got to read the book when I already saw who’s playing Peeta, though I’d prefer Gale to be a hotter character (Liam Hemsworth is a wrong choice.) But having Peeta look like this —

— helps my imagination immensely. Magkasala na kung magkasala haha! GAD PEETA Y U SO HAWT?

I’m printing this ID Card before I watch the premiere!!! District 4 represent yo! Am zeh hottest fisherman alive.

So yeah, forgive the unnecessary fanboying, aside from a hot guy playing Peeta (and that jaw porn, gawd) Hunger Games is really a fast-paced riveting pageturner.

P.S. This is the fastest book I’ve ever read, considering that I’m working and that I have the attention span of a three year old. No, really. Seriously.
P.S.S. Ok. Back to Peeta… PEETAAAAAAAAA —

Waiting for this scene in the movie!

DSC_0653Oh what a witty copy!!! *slow clap*

We’re a tad bit late, but hey we made it!! Didn’t get to go in though. Talked and talked with friends instead, drank a lil, erm… stalked a lil; lol zeh crush was in the area… but I still succumbed into sending that BBM message and meeting him instead. Yes, now I remembered that I forgot to take a photo of him. Anyway, it was a chill fun night, and looking forward to nights like this.

For the record, that week, I ate squidballs everyday. Idk with myself.

Nobody said it was easy

Oh! Please do watch this! This has been sitting in my drafts for days… uh, because I’m busy/lazy/sleepy all at the same time everyday this past week. I should srsly learn to sleep on time already.

P.S. Don’t you love how Coldplay’s songs are about love (or is it just me?) but you can actually use it anywhere else?

Life in a Day

I admired the people who made this movie (that I only got to see tonight.) Even in the presence of technology, I believe it wasn’t easy to collect a great number of stories, videos; what more moving ones. I am really inspired with this and I hope that one day I get to be a part of something massive and visionary.

P.S. I love that my gayspiration Dave is in the movie! Go represent!
P.S.S. Also the whole movie is available in Youtube. So feel free to watch the video I embedded above. It’s worth the watch.

V-day thingamajigs

DSC_0293One cheesy student’s work. Who might be the lucky girl… or boy for that matter? HAHA!

We had special videos up at the Moonleaf Maginhawa branch and also online! Aren’t these couples the sweetest?!

DSC_0295

So V-day came and I had work that lasted throughout the day. I hadn’t seen it any other way though, so it was fine. Believe me, the highlights of my day were receiving two cupcakes (thanks Jaja and Jen!); dating, errrrrrr…. eating Hainanese with Nica; and watching the 54th Grammy’s (I wish Bruno Mars dated me for Valentine’s lol!)
