Oxygen S/S12 x Marcela Gutierrez Preview

Almost a month ago, Oxygen invited me, along with other fashion bloggers to preview their would-be Summer-Spring 2012 collection at their Trinoma branch. I’m so honored to be in the same room with some of the top influencers of Philippine fashion, much more drinking Perrier, having cold cuts and custom-made cupcakes, and conversing with them. Indeed, it has been a pleasure to be there for Oxygen.

DSC_0973Cupcakes by Patti Grandidge. Subtly class, and yummeh!

DSC_0974I could’ve devoured the cold cut platter. Nice choice, I say!

Saw Vergil Chua right after entering the store. Met him for the first time here.

Jeff Bascon, Oxygen’s ultra-hip brand manager, pointing their latest pieces.

Introducing the latest collaboration of Oxygen with internationally renown fashion illustrator Marcela Gutierrez! For a while, I thought Marcela’s name was a bit familiar, until I realized I met her already here! And so I was very excited to see this collection, especially before anyone outside that room sees it! You have to give it, Oxygen really has classy style. Marcela is the way to go!!!

This green-white-gray illustration got my eye, and yay, I found it in my loot :D

DSC_1010Tie-dye-ish fashion is coming back in a twisted version. I love it! Definitely waiting for this to hit the racks.

I’ve been meaning to distress some of my pants. This gave an idea what to do with my old ones. But yes, this is on the wishlist, too. Very grungy and adherent to the Oxygen fashion that I know!

Carrot cut pants. If it weren’t for my hips that don’t lie – quoting Hanna Samson!

Drape-y top.

DSC_1014I wish this shorts comes with a boy version.

Sheer top. I can almost feel how comfy this is under the cruel summer sun heat.

Not sure if this is the piece Kat Reyes told us about sublimation, but I really like the sexy illustration.

DSC_1027Oxygen just treated us to a shopping afternoon. All the love from the bottom of my heart!!!

This box made me really happy. Had a separate post about this. Thank you Oxygen and Connect Agencie! ^^

DSC_0001Grabbed lunch at Mcdo with Thysz. We’re big eaters like dut. Tee-hee!

Solo black button-down, Oxygen gray denims, Thrifted military boots, Paradigm Shift noose neck piece.

Thanks to Miko and Verge for the last two photos :)

Like Oxygen at Facebook, follow their awesome Tumblelog, and their Twitter for updates on their latest fashion pieces. Most of all, go out there and buy those pieces, they’re all worth it – which reminds me to work, work, work so hard so that I can buy, buy, buy all I want! LOL!

Last *AWESOME* week in Photos

It has been a very busy Fashion Week

Until now, I really cannot completely grasp what just happened last week! Whirlwind PFW and a lot of in-betweens! Awesomesauce!!!! IT REALLY IS!!!

More and more people are watching Philippine Fashion Week. Glad that people appreciate local design

Went to Guess‘ show for Philippine Fashion Week. Met my blogger friends again for the first time since the Oxygen preview. As usual, they’re looking so great!

I love the clouds that day, they really are pretty

Thanks to David Guison for this photo of me!

PdP invited a handful of bloggers to Subspace Coffee House to preview the latest awesomesauce camera strap collection we just recently launched. This is the first event I handled for PdP. It’s a bit rough on the edges, but it was successfully delivered! Thank you to my team and the bloggers who made this happen! Stay tune for the next collection we’re having!!!

Pandafy! Coming very soon!

DSC_0663I love the architecture at H20!

After the preview, I went to H20 hotel and met Hanna for a quick Manila walkathon. Walked through Luneta, Roxas blvd., and we found ourselves at David’s Tea House, at Malate, for noodles and dimsum. Btw, their wanton is the best!!! And their tea is delicious. Coming back with the family when Mommy comes home this November.

Went To Freego’s show in the MOA atrium. First time watch inside the mall, and it was wild! People are everywhere and I didn’t manage to find a seat for me, Nica, and Jen. But the collection is awesome, as well. Y’all love it! AND THESE BASKETBALL PLAYERS! They walked outside the curtains with just their undies on and dressed onstage. Oh gawd, my knees have gone weak :P

Back at the SMX, the next day, for Oxygen’s show. Been looking forward to this show since we previewed the Marcela Gutierrez collection. Very edgy and cool.

The collection is so freaking amazing. I want to go into the minds of these designers! After the show, we went to the after party at Prive and met a lot of people. No pictures, because they won’t let my camera in, but I swear I was half-drunk and had the guts to talk to Cliff Ho who is sooooo handsome. That and alcohol made my knees really weak!!!

Saturday is the last day of PFW, for me, that is. Hustled through The Ramp’s show. Thanks to Erika who got me a ticket, even for the last minute. I just wished I wore a fairly ventilated outfit. I am such a sweat machine.

Also watched Vans’ show that day. So glad I did, because I was seated at the front with Miko, Daphne, Gerd, and Verge. So stoked! And they built a mini skate park inside the mall. WOW! Now that’s what you call innovative!

Now this is the face…

…that launched a thousand fans into rage!

Penshoppe’s show was outrageous because of Mario Maurer! I wasn’t able to get in, and I wasn’t really planning anyway, but I was there to wait for Ana to pullout some pieces from her online shop. It was not a pretty scene outside and fans were booing because they can’t be accommodated inside. I think Penshoppe had a special thing for them today…

I initially planned to watch some designers’ show (L’Oreal Menswear and RTW collections) but I had to do a shoot with my sister for her debut. This is my first photo shoot to organize, and so I was so nervous and freaked out. I had Erika, Ana, Bianca, Bea, and Tiff to thank for this shoot. I think they made it easy for me. Thanks, you gals!

FMCC black round neck, Levi’s distressed white denims, Liliw, Laguna espadrilles, Speedo frames

Anyhoo, more of the Summer Spring Collections of these brands on separate posts!!! Egad, this week is so awesome (for the nth time!)

P.S. I am still in Jason Mraz hangover! Watching him play last night is so hypnotizing! And he is so kulet! I just wish he sang Make it Mine! So here it is and let’s all be LSS about it :D

Crazy Halloween Weekend!!!

Blurred photo of the runway. I so love blurry photos. They’re so pretty!

Philippine Fashion Week Summer-Spring 2012 is the best PFW eveeeeeeeer! Well, that’s for me. Tea-hee!!! I must warn you though that for the following days, I will be flooding (LOL! 10+ backlogs and counting… just for the past week!) this blog with the hottest scoops behind the latest PFW! I’m so excited to show you the latest collection of the amazing brands that I watched. PLUS! Some of them had us in VIP, so I have really really REALLY great photos! I’ve met really cool bloggers along the way, too and I’m very happy I came to have met them! I learned bits of fashion wisdom from them! These all are coming your way very very soon!

Mario Maurer walked Penshoppe! I wasn’t able to watch, so that above is some random video I grabbed from Youtube. It was a pandemonium in and outside SMX because of fans wanting to get in Hall 2 but seemed like Penshoppe couldn’t accommodate everyone! Everyone was booing and I was waiting for Ana to be done because I was pulling out some of her accessories. However. MARIO MAURER IS SO CUTE EVEN IN THE SCREEN!!!! *unnecessary spazzing*

I wish I can post more about PFW, but I need my forty winks for my shoot in T-7 hours! More of it also in the coming posts (GAWD MY BACKLOGS GROW ON THEIR OWN!) For the meanwhile, listen to Foster the People’s Pumped Up Kicks. I’ve heard this first in the PdP HQ and it’s been all over PFW also! Kuh-raaaaaaaaaaaaazy song. I love it, I can listen to it a million times and be not umay about it! It’s just so dope! ❤

And if you’re watching Jason Mraz (with Toca Rivera) in Smart Araneta Coliseum later, I hate having to add Smart to it, tweet/SMS/BBM/Facebook me and let’s meet! I’m watching with my college best friend, Hanna. I am so excited!!! It’s my dream for Jason to come back here in Manila and I ditched Owl City and Black Eyed Peas for this. Yes, it will be all worth it. WE ❤ YOU JASOOOOOOOON!

And seriously, it’s still Halloween. And what’s creepier than Halloween? 1st of November (it really gives me the jeepers!) So who Halloween-partied yesterday (Well, I did! Who else partied last Saturday?) It really didn’t turned out well, I came home a lil drunk and wasted and my head spun first thing in the morni… errr, lunchtime, when I woke up. So yes, instead of getting wasted, y’all watch Donnie Darko, my Halloween movie for this year. SRSLY, IT’S GODDAMN CRAZY! I always love psycho movies, but I end up doubting my own sanity. So yeah, it scares the shit out of me.

So there, I really need to sleep. Please don’t mind my utterly fanboy tone while typing this post! This week has been very crazy. And as what I have been tweeting the whole week – This week is one for the keeps!

Ciao and I love you all!

PdP x Bloggers teaser

Yesterday, we at PdP hosted an intimate bloggers preview of our new camera straps at Subspace Coffee House (that place is so awesome!) I am so excited with collaborating with these bloggers and I cannot wait to blog more about this. Unfortunately, some things (i.e. adult stuff) must carry on before this, so the reason for this teaser. BUT I am getting back to all of you to tell how awesome the event went! For the meanwhile watch and enjoy this video (above) made by our Master Panda, Jen Horn.

Also follow David, Arriane, Alexis, and Eileen to win PdP GCs and tickets to the Global Pinoy Bazaar! Thanks, guys and gals!

This week has been pretty much EPIC so far! Still, more surprises keep on, well… surprising me. This week’s for the keeps. Thank you, Universe! :)

Millionz of elyenz!

Makati wisdom

Makati will always have a soft spot in my heart. It is where I spent two months and a half for my first job, and I will not deny, not one bit, that I enjoyed being in Makati. It’s ironic though, that we don’t have dress code in the office and wearing shirt and denims almost fools everyone that I am a student in Mapua Makati. Hey, I still do look like a college student, according to some! It’s also convenient that Makati is the hub of almost all events. I did not have much problem attending events after my work.

Two and a half months is STILL two and a half months. I like to believe that I learned a lot from Makati. So here are some of the wise tips that I picked up during my Makati days:

  • ALWAYS leave before six. Before 6am. Before 6pm. Six is truly the number of the devil. It is always when traffic is at it’s heaviest. Believe me, you don’t want to learn this the hard way.
  • You can reach places in Makati just by walking, especially if you don’t want to rip your budget, and if you’re shooting for physical exercise after sitting down in your 9-5 job.
  • In light of that, always bring an extra shirt – especially if your sweat glands are hyperactive, like mine.
  • Buendia and Ayala are two different stations in the MRT. You may want to just walk it, since it is really just near. Again, walkable.
  • On a tight budget? There’s the jolly jeep in almost every street!
  • If you’re planning to eat out, eat out on Fridays. Most jolly jeeps reheat their stuff. That soupy pinapaitan gets a little thick on Fridays, just in case you ask for an example.
  • Watch your thighs. Don’t eat Ministop chicken EVERYDAY even if it tastes sooooooooo goooooood.
  • Beware of payday weekends. Even the before six rule does not apply.
  • There are two trains going to Makati – LRT1 Gil Puyat and MRT Guadalupe, Buendia, and Ayala. Choose wisely where you are near.
  • THERE ARE FREE RIDES. Look for the eJeepney sign. They go through Landmark and the Makati City Hall. Click here for schedule.
  •  Riding the jeep to the MRT. Drop by at Park Square, nearer than Landmark.
So much for being the commuter king and diet advocate. Haha! I just miss Makati, that’s all :)

Filipinos are so creative! Spotted this on Tumblr a few days back and I found myself laughing and admiring the work of the people involved in this. This could pass as a Cinemalaya entry if you ask me (yes, I am seriously saying that!)

I don’t wanna spoil, but look for history-themed attacks! SO WITTY! ❤

Philippine Tiis-ganda Week!

I can’t get over when I just coined Philippine Tiis-ganda Week and sent my Twitter friends to laughter! Tea-hee!

Thank you to Connect Agency for invites to Guess, Oxygen, Vans shows!

It’s Philippine Fashion Week and it is that time of the year when the fashion world goes a little crazier around here! I’m so excited!!! Are you?!

See you there!

Roofcamp #14

Went to this mixer thingamajig at Calle Sirocco at Jupiter street. We met a lot of people in the web developing world and it was an opportunity to introduce our company as a design company to these developers.

DSC_0410I like Calle Sirocco’s interiors. Not too club-y, not too quiet either.

DSC_0413Shut the fuck up and make awesome shit!

DSC_0421Hacking innovation

DSC_0426Ate two dinners!!! I like the hashbrown, I did not (and think will never) like their burger.

I learned a lot from this:

  1. Everything starts with doing. A plan is good, but getting your ass off is the real first step.
  2. Necessity being the mother of all innovation is true. But moving towards innovation is a completely different task.
  3. Keep inspired, but keep on moving as well.
  4. Stop waiting, start doing, and be the change that you want the world to be.

I’m so glad I went, even though I have to cancel my meeting for it. I’m so excited to share this to my future team (crossing fingers, eagerly wanting, and praying so hard for this.) Keep inspired, everyone!

The Milk Tea Project continues on Cha Dao Maginhawa branch. I marched straight from the Bloggers Congress and a quick dinner at Megamall, capping the night at this tea place.

Is it just me, or tea shops are starting to look alike #justsayin. Anyway, I love how welcoming the shop is. They have tents outside so customers can enjoy their tea al fresco. It was still  the soft opening period, so it is understandable that the crowd is still somewhat sparse.

DSC_0131This menu is on a table and is very convenient. You have to give it that they have warm service. Props to that.

I have to be honest here. I really do not like how they did their tea in this place. I ordered the Classic Milk Tea and it really reminds me  of Nido (which I run away from when I was a kid.) No offense to Nido and Nido lovers, but I really loathe the taste of powdered milk – ANY powdered milk. I cannot taste the tea in the drink and I can’t forgive the powdered milk taste (sorry.) I’d like to believe that the tea is just so awkwardly sweet because the crew made a mistake.

Please believe me that it disheartens me to give a bad review. I do not want to destroy any brand name, and the sole purpose of this project is to promote the tea lifestyle – the diversity of each and every shop and how they are making a good and sustainable competition in the Philippines.

In light of this, I am going to give Cha Dao a second chance and this post will serve as a work in progress. I hope that this will be a push for the tea place to improve their tea.

DSC_0134Come to think of it, the sweetness of the macaron from The French Baker numbed my tongue a little to taste a little tea from my drink.

DSC_0135But still, a milk tea drink should be able to stand in itself.

Til we see each other again, Cha Dao! :)

Help Save a Heartbeat

It’s sweet when businesses are not just making profit for owners themselves, when they go the extra mile to support a cause. In this case, my online shop owner friend Eunicena informed me about their new line of shirts at VNALTIK and how it is made to support a friend who’s having a heart surgery. Surgery ain’t cheap, let’s admit it. So I really admire her for her love for her friend and her sincerity to help.

I LOVE THE DESIGNS! No, really! It speaks to the heart (pun intended) and is very classy, nonetheless. The shirts cost PhP550 and the tank top, PhP350. It’s available in men’s and women’s sizes, too – so everyone can avail!  Not too steep for a piece of fashionable clothing that can spark a whole new chance of living for someone. Some of us buy very expensive clothes and I have nothing to rant about that – it’s everybody’s right to feel and look good in clothing. But when an opportunity to help like this opens, I hope you have a heart to spend some bucks to help save a life.

If you are willing to help (and to wear this, I honestly cannot think how you won’t want this, hehe) click here and fill out the order form. You may also read Eunicena’s blog post here about The Beat Goes On and like it on Facebook here.

Thank you! And I hope you spread the word… to the same beat.
