It’s a pretty accurate map of what’s what of Maginhawa street here in Teacher’s Village, where I currently taking refuge work. And oh, you see there my humble favorite tea shop, Moonleaf. And some other favorites like Tomato Kick, Combi (now defunct, but replaced by another favorite Zugbu,) and The Pino Kitchen group (with Pipino and BRGR Project.) They should really add the recently opened Kowloon siomai stand in front of BRGR Project!
Will be doing a Top 10 list of Teacher’s Village finds! Any suggestions?
These are just some of the behind-the-scenes of our shoot for The Moonleaf Summer 2012 Campaign shot by Joseph Pascual and filmed by Judd Figuerres. The locations were Maginhawa street and the vast grassy area that is the University of the Philippines – Diliman. I had the honor to tag along and experience working with these amazing people… oh just look how much fun we are having.
Do you agree with me that it looks like sundae cone?
Just as we were setting up for the second location at UP, we found ourselves playing around and had a shoot within a shoot. It was fun! With the beautiful sun and all. AND. THAT. DOLL. LOLz!

Karla and Eunice joined us in our UP leg of the shoot. Karla brought Kuchay, yay!
One of the perks of working at Teacher’s Village is that friends come and go all the time. It’s so near the university that it instantly becomes the third place after school/work and home. For some, it is their home, workplace, and hang out place in one! You cannot run out of places to eat/drink/hang at because it’s just bustling with all these potential places. I wish I could try them all!
Hop in a car, ride a cab, or even just walk – and you can just reach the nearby UP, which is a sight in its own. I’ve seen many a photo shoot happened here, and who could even know a grass land this vast can be found in the middle of the city? It’s perfect for picnics, too! Whatever floats your boat!
I always believe that whenever the clouds look pretty, the day’s gonna be awesome. That day I shot these, it knew it was awesome already, and the clouds couldn’t agree more with me.
Italian Stallion Burger – to which I told them, two of my favorites in one, Italians and Stallions, lolz
And the day ISN’T over. After work, I met up with some more friends and rewarded myself with burger and booze at the newly renovated Burger Project. My blogger friends were there already, and I showed up and crashed. They were supposed to invite me, really but I still have work by the time they get there.
We moved to Pino to grab some more booze and pica. I love it there, it’s so bright and they have my favorite Lychee Beer. Perfect for capping the day off.
It has been months since I was with PdP in an event, and this is already their third blogger hangout! Always a pleasure going to PdP’s events because they’re fun, and you really cannot run out of stuff to talk about. Plus, I love that these events are not-your-usual-events and is more intimate than others. I think it’s a good example how brands should conduct their events.
I will have to say that the last centavo of what seemed to be my measly savings went to my Toe ticket. No regrets though! I haven’t been in a rock concert, much more in a post-rock concert, and Toe was such a great band to watch and experience!! I wish I can show you how the drummer looked like when he was spacing out and just banging on his drums – he was so surreal! But unfortunately, even point-and-shoot cameras weren’t allowed. REALLY TERNO PRODUCTIONS? WHY?!

The Hunger Games with Team DGNTY
And yes, the most awaited film of the quarter IMHO hit the big screens last week!! And I have to thank Hunger Games Philippines for the superb seats! I really don’t wanna spoil but there were so many good scenes, excellent even – and it was the best book-to-film adaptation there is, so far! The casting, the production design, the cinematography, the editing, the costume design, what else?! It’s so perfect, it deserves a repeat watch this Thursday!!! See you, fangirls!
And… I am trying to dance again… Hey, no judgment, I really used to dance, some five years ago! But that’s a long time already haha, so it really helped that Toff and Miko were really patient when I didn’t get the steps easily. I really missed dancing, and was really planning to enroll in a studio this summer. At least I get to start shedding off some rust now, hehe.
Honestly, all my muscles now are like on strike. Even just lifting a glass of water hurts my whole arm… THE WHOLE ARM, I TELL YOU! Am not complaining, but is that how long I’ve been without real physical activity? I better start getting used to this, lawlz.
But indeed, it was still an epic of a week!!! Still felt like my birthday week, tbh.
PdP Blogger Hangouts are the best!!! This is one of my favorites when I was still with Punchdrunk Panda! And I was really touched when Nica and Jen asked me to come to their latest one *sheds a tear*. I super miss hanging out with the PdP team, the bloggers… and I can’t pass up for the yummy grub *insert wide grin here*
Thysz and I were a bit late, and they were already done introducing PdP’s latest skimmers. But we still got to see them, as worn by the bloggers already. Here’s a sneak peek —
The blogger hangout was held at Pipino, the vegan counterpart of Pino at Teacher’s Village. It’s just near work, so I really can’t say no to them :)
Garden Burger. I was told that this was made with banana heart and I was really amazed because it really taste so good. It’s a bit dry, but it’s still fine.
Lots of sidings!!! I love the potato wedges — forever a potato fan!
The Green Tea and Choco Peanut Butter cupcakes are totally to die for… And mind you they are vegan and aren’t made with eggs and milk. My taste buds are confused!
Jen, explaining herself hehe
Creative menu by none other than Alessandra Lanot
Nica showing off the postcards that come with the skimmers
I LOVE THE HIGH CEILING!!
Pretty girls: Ral, Charlene, Gela, and Helga.
I miss the PdP team…
Nica, I’ll make this my profile picture aah, haha!
