It’s Valentine’s day and I’m cutting my annual tradition of emo shitty posts on the day of hearts. For the first time, my V-day has been without drama so far and only love, love, love from my friends. Being single isn’t really bad at all (I’m a changed man! LOL)
Also, I want to show to you our Valentine’s feature at Moonleaf! So what if nobody’s there, right huh? This video is a proud production of our Design Team at DGNTY! Congratulations, team!
And for added V-day sizzle schmizzle, introducing internet star Sebastian Castro‘s ultra hot music video!!! BEWARE: if you’re busy don’t watch it now. It’ll keep you peeled to the screen like a… I don’t really wanna say anymore HAHAHAHA.
Gad, summer is indeed here. Hahahahaha. Get a hint, guys!
Just got back at the office, and it’s back to work bitches. I really had fun with our company Singles’ brunch. Though technically, Nica’s no longer single hihihi. Don’t ask me, ask her :P
Love is in the air. Pull the joker card.
Hey everyone! Watch out for my new blog — blog.jonverdavid.com! See you there soon!

I am badly missing Singapore and Laneway as I find myself lost during lunch break, watching videos from Youtube. I still cannot believe I went there and saw Of Monsters and Men live! It was such a magical experience, as their music is to me. Lately, I either work or read about travel and I am still on a traveling high. Maybe it’s high time I explore the world more… And when I say more, maybe a few hundred (or thousand) miles away from home.
Six weeks is one of the memorable songs Of Monsters and Men played during the festival, and quite apt, it talks about going away and coming back. A little more than six weeks and I’ll be back flying again, I guess.
And maybe I’ll dread to come back because the world is ao beautiful and there is just so much to see.
Sleep, sleep all night
while the young, they wait alone.
Get up, shake the rust.
We crawl, we crawl, we crawl,
we crawl on the ground.
P.S. This is just a spinoff from my Singapore-Laneway series but I really wanna start it out on my new platform! I’m really working on it so please please please watch out for it!
After two years (oh how I miss MTV Asia!) I’ll be back in Singapore, now for St. Jerome’s Laneway festival to be held at the new The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. Now, I’ll have more time to go around to experience the famed lion city. I really cannot hide my excitement!!! OF MONSTERS AND MEN is playing among other amazing bands. I’m also excited for Kings of Convenience, Gotye, Kimbra, Bat for Lashes, ALT-J, and Polica! And that’s just the cherry on top! There’s a total of 14 bands playing (others are Tame Impala, Yeasayer, Real Estate, Nicolas Jaar, Japandroids, Cloud Nothings, and Divine Fits) Hope I win the Meet and Greet too! Teehee!
I’ll be live tweeting at the event… and mostly for my stay in Singapore. Thanks to Globe’s BridgeUnlimited unlimited surfing, it’s more affordable AND just easy to register but just the same reliable service we get while roaming. So if you wanna keep tabs on what’s happening during Laneway, feel free to follow @Jonver_David!
PLUS… I’m planning a blog reboot. Whew! I’ve been scared to tell here, because it’d be so much pressure, but now I’m really sure! Keep tuned in for developments and I hope you’re still ready to follow my blog in its soon-to-be new home.

And I know you’re fed up of hearing me ranting about Christmas songs, and the fuss about the holidays. So I won’t bring that up. And here’s a Christmas song actually… But not JUST a Christmas tune, but it’s Last Christmas by The xx!!! Imagine the joy, the yuletide joy, when I found this! It’s sung in a way that it’s not a) too jolly, b) too diva, or c) both; it’s sober but I can feel it’s Christmas! I super love it!
And oh, you guys know also about altMNL, this blog I’m working on with friends. We also came up with Not Just Another Christmas Mixtape. Some tunes to save you from the boredom of the usual you hear (please, don’t even mention the tacky tunes in the local jeepneys. I CANNOT.)
So yeah, it’s just so happppppyyyyyy to put this on repeat. Best with someone to hug or a hot cup of cocoa, but yeah I don’t have the former. Hi, hot cocoa. Warm me up. I’ll stop talking to myself already. Enjoy the holiday break, guys!

And it’s here… Finally it’s Christmas in five days. Come to think of it, I still haven’t posted about my Annual Holiday Wishlist… Soon, though. But Apple looks like they figured out what you want with the 12 Days App! I dunno though why it starts on December 26 rather than the 13th, but who cares? It still is free apps/music/who knows what from everybody’s no-longer-secret Santa!
So if I were you before the servers get crammed, go download it now. And let’s all have a happy holidays!
For now, they’re giving away Rod Stewart’s music video of Let It Snow! If it’s your thing, then go figure. Y’all know how I feel about Christmas tunes… So yeah. Hahahaha!
You can’t imagine the smile in my face when I received an email from our friends at MTV Asia – Singapore about yet another MTV EXIT stint by Jason Mraz. If you could remember, Mraz also did the same thing here in Manila when he had his concert last year. Now it’s Myanmar’s turn to be serenaded by our lovely bohemian lover of life, and get educated about human trafficking. More of this after the jump!
Who’s a fan of Johnoy Danao here? Yes, he’s the composer-singer who toured the Moonleaf Tea Shop chain and who sang the jingle above. Listen to this beautifully composed song (which sticks to your ears, really) explaining how to use your internet efficiently and wisely!
Learn and enjoy, folks!

So today (in some other countries) they remember those who have suffered and died because of discrimination of their chosen gender roles and preferences. It is sad, but what we could do now is to remember, learn, and apply what history could teach us.
Nobody should die because they chose who they really are and chose not to live a life of conformity. And may this day may serve its purpose – to open the eyes of the blinded and for us who are different from the rest of them, may it serve as an encouragement to be brave and face this life with dignity and pride.
Got a chance to meet American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez last September, thanks to Bench who got the young Filipina onboard as one of its Global Benchsetters along with pop singer Maroon 5′s Adam Levine, and K-pop sensation Super Junior’s Siwon and Dong Hae.
It was stunnimg to see Jessica, especially a lot of Filipinos were big fans of her during while she was competing for the AI title. Add to that, that she is really so young and already making waves im the industry. It’s just a wow to meet her!
I miss my blog, and I am dying to tell you all my life’s little adventures… but before I begin, let me introduce, if not reintroduce, this song. Lately, I’ve bought the Nomad Manager‘s iPod classic, and I’ve been listening to my old tunes. I instantly dug up my The Frays and Nickelbacks, and suddenly — it’s a whirlwind to 2010.
Over My Head is one of The Fray’s most hurtful yet beautiful songs. It’s one of those songs I listen to when I’m sad… or too happy. I don’t know, it just kinda reels me back to reality… and apparently back or towards to another beginning.
The past few weeks have been full of some endings and new beginnings… and better going-ons. Rollercoaster life is rollercoaster.
Enough of that though, I’m happy and I’m sleepless and I’m going to blog out this insomniac’s adrenaline. It’s a 36-hour day ahead of me. Weeeeeeee!
I wish you were a stranger I can disengage.
Just say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along.
