Third time’s the charm for the most anticipated fashion bloggers event in the country!
Bloggers United is staging their third bloggers bazaar this June 2 at the Grandview Events Place to once again gather Manila’s top fashion bloggers in one single venue outside of the World Wide Web. After holding two successful events last year, Bloggers United has easily become one of the most anticipated affairs for both fashion bloggers and readers in the metro. More than just a bazaar, Bloggers United also partners with charitable groups to use and channel their influence in a positive manner.
Through the overwhelming power of social media and blogs in today’s generation, the previous Bloggers United events have successfully joined forces with top fashion bloggers like Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Kryz Uy and many more to inspire their followers and to raise funds for various beneficiaries, namely KIDS Foundation and GMA Kapuso Foundation. This time around, the event will benefit Operation Smile Philippines.
The event gets better and better every time! To make Bloggers United 3 even more momentous, top Indonesian fashion blogger Anastasia Siantar of The Brown Platform will also be selling alongside Cebu fashion bloggers and our very own top celebrities Divine Lee & Sarah Meier.
So, if you love blog-reading and blog-hopping, Bloggers United is sure to be the perfect end-of-summer bazaar for you. Not only will you be able to bump elbows with your favorite bloggers at the event, but you will also be able to snag some of their own stylish statement pieces as they open their closets to sell to the public. Stay-up-to-date with the biggest gathering of bloggers by following us on Twitter (twitter.com/bloggers_united) and Facebook (facebook.com/bloggersunitedph), and bookmarking our official webpage (bloggersunited.org).

In its first year, and the second Men’s Fashion Week in Asia after Singapore, Ayala Style Origin 2012 presents Mensweek to showcase our very own local menswear designers such as M Barretto and Norman Noriega.
I love the boots with man-platforms!
This jacket… I COVET!
There is a certain eerie and spectacle, all at the same time, at the sight of M Barretto’s controlled and clean designs. At one look, it may seem a tad classic, what with polos, vests and coats; but the cuts that capitalize in silhouette and body frame seems to give it more character. Add to that the boots with platforms (I’m guessing by Bang Pineda) not just gives height but gives the whole look a glorifying finishing touch.

Do you notice the shredded part at the chest? It’s such a subtle and witty addition to the whole ensemble.
If structure is M’s strength, then Norman’s on the lighter side. As some would say, it’s primeval and organic, I’d say it’s all about being free. Yes, the OS accessories have given it a yaba-daba-doo feel, but what I still see are cuts banking on silhouette – either strict to follow the body or loose, boxy and drapey to alter it. Whether it’s bedrock-ancient or 2020 couture, what we can sum up from all this is function without appearing lousy. Can you imagine wearing Norman’s comfy clothes and still manage to look edgy?

This Philippine Fashion Week, I am so glad that we have not just one show, but a whole week to celebrate menswear! If there’s one thing we could take pride is that Filipino designers are world-class.
Kudos to all the talented and promising designers in the Philippines!

We now continue this Style Origin coverage with the Men’s High Street brands –

Van Heusen. Corporate, sleek and clean.

Izod. Nautical and cuffed. Perfect look for that weekend escape in some obscure island.

Sperry. I was over with the topsider fever, but you have to admit, it suits anything.

Topman. Stand out in the crowd with prints, bold and subtle.

Mundo (The Ramp). I am thrilled with the minimalist touch of monochrome in Mundo’s pieces.

Maldita Man. Basics in excellent cut and muted tones.

Celio + Pedro. When it calls for preppy, you know where to get ‘em.

Sassa Jimenez. Summer = floral. And I like how it played with other colors.

Joey Samson. Floral prints seems to be the theme in unique cuts

Jerome Lorico. This isn’t your normal Summer collection, but I love the inspiration got from several indigenous tribes in the South and the use of knit in this collection (which is indigenously sourced also.) What sets it apart from other designs though is the drape styling and ornamental touches such as metallics and aztec patterns.
I really regret not going to the first one, but was really lucky to catch even just a glimpse of Jerome Lorico’s collection.
COMING UP NEXT: M Barretto and Norman Noriega shows their menswear collection at Style Origin 2012 at Trinoma!

Hi there y’all! That was a whirlwind half month that passed and that has left me with overwhelming backlogs. Anyway, I am back, and it’s fashion week already! What more exciting to start with but the Style Origin High Street fashion show by Ayala at Trinoma!
The show was opened by composer-singer-rockstar Bamboo Manalac and he sang most of his all-time hits all throughout the show. I think it’s refreshing that rock music is being used in the runway HERE in the Philippines, ’cause surprisingly it works! Bamboo wooed the ladies like how Adam Levine did in the Victoria’s Secret show last year! The lady models must’ve missed a beat or two trying to concentrate between walking and looking at Bamboo :P
The very summery pantone of the year is ever present
Pair your favorite summer pieces (i.e., florals, pastels, nautical) with neutrals for cleaner look
Achieve that summer tan and flaunt it over some of these pieces. And don’t forget that hat!
It’s very difficult to layer in this time of the year so look for outfits that can probably stand for itself or will do with accessories
Let sheer help your skin to breathe
Dress a la Summer in the Hamptons
It was a fresh show of Summer-Spring collection of different high street brands, both local and abroad. There were about 20+ brands who participated in the High Street Fashion Show which are the following:
Human
Call It Spring
Kashieca
Charles & Keith
Bauhaus
Dorothy Perkins
Mango
Topshop
7 for All Mankind
Michael Antonio
Accessorize
Naturalizer
Details
Esprit
Maldita
Missy
Inches
XOXO
Promod
Chocolate
R.A.F.
Swatch
Geleia
Gap
Springfield
Zara
I am loving Bamboo’s outfit palette!
I can’t emphasize MORE how Bamboo was a big PLUS to this show! Kudos!
Thank you to Cariza who invited me over to Style Origin and to Jonard for coming with us! I really had a good time (and possibly a hard time computing how much more broke I will become after the smorgasbord of shopping possibilities! Haha!) UP NEXT: Men’s High Street and Menswear by M Barretto and Norman Noriega!
Oxygen long drapey top and denim jeans, Memo belt, Thrifted military boots
ALSO, I got featured here!! Thanks to Style Origin and looking forward to the other shows, schedule below:

Wanna get hold of some tickets? Follow @moonleafteashop and @styleanywhere for their giveaways! Or you can just scour the internet your favorite brands and designers for giveaways!
So block the dates already, May 22 – 27 is Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2012! Say hi when you see us, okay? See you all there!
P.S. I am posting this because I need to so badly remind myself to do the Mensweek photos and post it already! I couldn’t understand why last week was so tiring. But, there’s no reason to lax now.
P.S.S. Bah-hum-bug for backlogs.

The Mall of Asia was mobbed by fashion aficionados and fans to witness the launching of Bench’s new fragrance offering, Gutz N’ Glory by Richard Gutierrez. The show was meant to show Richard’s two sides, as Gutz N’ Glory fragrances has two distinct aroma as well. There was a fashion show as well to showcase Bench’s new offerings for the summer!
Bench Gutz N’ Glory deo colognes are now available in Bench boutique stores nationwide!

And the most fashionable kids of Manila were out to dress up and party like there’s no tomorrow. Nothing beats Panty Monsters party anytime, anyday, anywhere!!! I hope more parties like this happen in the metro!
Joyeux anniversaire Panty Monsters!!

Richard Gutierrez, most-sought after bachelor, collaborates with one of the country’s top clothing brand Bench, to form Gutz and Glory.
In this picture, Richard Gutierrez reminds me of the always-sleek, always-fresh Mr. James Bond!
Richard Gutierrez and Bench go a long way back. He is one of the hottest endorsers for clothing and lifestyle retail giant and is one of the very first local celebrities who came out with a scent for Bench. The success of “Gutz & Glory” Eau De Toilette fragrance, which was launched 3 years ago, brought them back together to the drawing board and is proud to announce that “Gutz & Glory “is now available in deo cologne. The cologne version, just like the EDT fragrance, is designed to be a separate day-and-night scent. “Gutz & Glory” deo cologne lasts all day and is an effective protection against unwanted body odor.
Richard designed “Gutz” as an airy and incredibly fresh scent, very light thus ideal for daytime use. It has whiffs of aromatic Fougere, a mixture of lavender as top note and base notes of oak moss and coumarin, as well as additional notes of spice and wood.
For “Glory”, Richard decided to make the fragrance richer by adding amber and citrus with the aromatic Fougere. Glory shouts for adventure, thus more appropriate when stepping out come nighttime and when someone heads out to paint the town red. Richard’s “Gutz & Glory” deo cologne is an extension of his persona since he was involved in every aspect of the project development. He himself gave directions, selected the fragrance notes and packaging for the two scents.
There is no stopping Richard Gutierrez as he soars to greater heights, whether on or off the screen, he would be giving 100% to achieve success with his guts to attain glory. Richard’s “Gutz & Glory” deo cologne is now available in all Bench stores nationwide and retails at P128.00.
So wanna be like our local James Bond and snag the ladies with just a whiff of your scent? Gutz N’ Glory will do the snaggin’ for you.
